Learning how to dance

Belem is a city in the northern part of Brazil on the edge of the Amazon, where it rains almost every day in the winter months. One of my most vivid memories of Belem is of eating crushed acai berries for breakfast. Like other places in Brazil, the favorite pastime in Belem is dancing. But unlike other parts of Brazil, the people love to dance to the Bolero. Originating in Spain, the Bolero is a ¾ dance(waltz), sensual and romantic. Generally a slow-tempo couple dance, the Bolero is fun and easy to learn.
One night in a small cantina, I was dancing with a young lady and noticed from the side of my eye, a man staring at me. I think he realized I was a gringo and was observing me intensely.
Thoughts rushed through my mind. What was he doing? What was he thinking? Was I in danger?
